An Oregon summer means hot afternoons tubing down the Clackamas River; shady hikes in the Three Sisters Wilderness; splashing around the ice-cold waves at Short Sands Beach; rafting the mighty, wild Rogue; scaling the bright-red rock at Monkey Face; counting constellations at Wallowa Lake, and oh so many more adventures.
And, if you’ve been an OLCV member for a while, you might associate summer with one other thing—our Environmental Scorecard Photo Contest!
That’s right: we’re looking for pictures to feature in our 2019 Environmental Scorecard for the Oregon Legislature. Since 1973, OLCV’s Environmental Scorecard has helped keep Oregonians involved in the legislative process by summing up how environmental bills fared during the legislative session, and scoring legislators on their environmental track record. And your photos could be part of this tradition!
This year’s theme is people in nature. We don’t just want pictures of scenery—we want pictures of you enjoying Oregon’s outdoors, during summer or any time of year. The winning pictures will be featured in our Scorecard, and one winner will also be awarded a special grand prize.
So, while you’re out enjoying all the magnificent ecosystems Oregon has to offer, snap a picture! Send your high resolution photos to us at firstname.lastname@example.org by the end of August, and you might be our next grand prize winner.
