Two Key Races with Regional Implications

April 13, 2010

Bob Stacey for Metro President

The race for Metro President is heating up and the three candidates vying for the seat debated at the City Club of Portland last Friday, giving listeners real insight about why we need to elect Bob Stacey. As Steve Novick commented about the debate, "Bob demonstrated command of details, his values and his strong sense of Metro's mission. At the end of the debate you knew what Bob would do at Metro, why he would do it and why Metro matters." If you missed it, you can listen to the City Club debate here.

Back at Bob Stacey’s campaign headquarters, Anna, OLCV’s field organizer on the campaign, has a number of new opportunities for you to help elect Bob. Here are just a few:

Enviro Night for Bob phonebank: April 13, 6-9pm, Campaign Headquarters
Kickoff Postcard Party for Bob: April 16, afternoon, Campaign Headquarters

Duke Shepard for Metro Position 1

Duke is a leader with the passion and the know-how to tackle the complex challenges the metro region faces in both the short and long-term. He has both a strong labor and environmental background and with that mix will be a strong voice advocating for sustainable, green jobs and will fight to preserve the livability of our region that will attract those jobs.

That's why Duke Shepard earned OLCV's endorsement for Metro Position 1. Duke is committed to rebuilding our economy and will fight to ensure that Metro supports the quality of local neighborhoods and central business districts in East County.
