Take the Pledge!
Vote YES for a Clean and Healthy Oregon.
In just eight short weeks, Oregonians will face a very important vote, a vote that will impact Oregon’s natural legacy for generations to come. That’s because on January 26, Oregonians will be voting on Measures 66 and 67. That vote must be YES.
We at OLCV want to make sure you understand what's at stake. We are stepping up to the plate, doing everything we can to make sure these measures pass. Over the next eight weeks, we will be working with the Oregon Conservation Network, a coalition of more than 40 groups around the state, to educate thousands of Oregon voters about why these measures are vital to protect what we love about our state. We'll also be working to make sure voters turn in their ballots by January 26.
And we’ll be letting you know how you can help, alerting you about volunteer opportunities and events.
The first thing you can do:
Take the pledge! Please take a moment now to add your name to the list of Oregonians who are committing to protecting Oregon's environmental legacy.
Why take the pledge?
As Oregonians, we have a state to be proud of: Abundant farmland, lush forests, pristine public beaches, clean rivers, and special places that provide fish and wildlife habitat as well as some of the most beautiful and diverse recreation in the nation.
And Oregon has a reputation for leading the nation on energy innovation and environmental safeguards. But if Measures 66 and 67 don’t pass, we face cuts that will hamper our ability to move forward on a clean energy economy or protect our state--and our children--from harmful pollution.
Measures 66 and 67 ask corporations and Oregon’s richest 2% to pay their fair share for the services we all benefit from. The majority of big corporations in Oregon pay only the minimum $10 corporate tax, which hasn’t been raised since the 1930s. That’s just not fair. Get the facts.
Measures 66 and 67 will preserve funding for Oregon’s environmental stewardship through services such as:
- Developing Oregon’s clean energy economy to bring good jobs to our state
- Wastewater management and toxic water monitoring to help clean up our rivers and ensure safe drinking water for our families
- Air quality monitoring
- Reducing global warming pollution
Take the Pledge to Vote YES on Measures 66 and 67!
