Recap: Multnomah County OLCV Celebration at Ciao Vito!
Last week, Multnomah County OLCV hosted our annual fall dinner at Ciao Vito in Northeast Portland.
This was our most successful dinner to date. Multnomah County OLCV raised over $5000 and over 60 people turned out.
Dinner guests made new friends and caught up with old friends as they crowded together in a packed dining room to enjoy a delicious four-course meal, salmon-safe, organic local wines and animated conversation.
Walt Mintkeski, Chair of OLCV's Multnomah County Chapter, introduced Representative Nick Kahl, who replaced Karen Minnis in 2008, and Jon Isaacs, OLCV's new executive director.
An enthusiastic Isaacs explained his excitement to be at the helm of OLCV, citing OLCV's effectiveness in helping the right people get elected as a big reason.
Later, Representative Kahl thanked Multnomah County OLCV and our supporters for the role we played in helping Kahl win election in 2008.
Other esteemed guests included: Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian, House Majority Leader Mary Nolan, Rep. Jules Bailey, Metro Councilor and candidate for Metro President Rex Burkholder, Portland City Commissioner Amanda Fritz, Gresham City Councilor and Metro candidate Shirley Craddick, candidate for Metro President Bob Stacey and Metro candidate Duke Shepard.
We need proactive leaders that we can depend on to protect the health of our environment and that of Oregonians.
