Opportunities to elect environmental leaders in Clackamas County
With three seats on the Clackamas County Commission, the Metro Presidient race up for grabs and several key legislative battles in Clackamas County, 2010 is shaping up to have a busy politcal year.
Two candidates to vote for on May 18
Will Rasmussen
Over the last few years OLCV has been lucky to have endorsed the person who would represent House District 37 in Oregon's Legislature. 2010 brings us the opportunity to not only endorse a representive, but elect a future champion for our issues. Will Rasmussen is a land-use attorney who understands the importance of a group like OLCV.
Not only is Rasmussen committed to the issues of OLCV, he is a believer in what we do. He wants to fight for Oregon's environmental legacy in the legislature, and help us flourish. Rasmussen is a strong believer in Oregon's landmark protections for farm and forestland. Will will defend our land-use protections from out-of-control sprawl.
Bob Stacey
OLCV took the step and endorsed a true leader and visionary on environmental issues for Metro President, Bob Stacey. Stacey is the former executive director of 1000 Friends of Oregon and has dedicated his entire career to protecting Oregon’s natural legacy. Some of you may have even received phone calls from our organizer, Anna Gilbert, working on Stacey's campaign to volunteer in one of our phonebanks. Get involved and stay informed
Between now and May 18, OLCV will be out in force for these candidates, we will be canvassing and phonebanking. If you haven't signed up to help elect pre-environment candidates before, sign up to volunteer.
