Live performances by Jon Broderick, Jay Speakman, Moe Bowstern, Dave Densmore, Geno Leech, Clem Starck & Gene "Red Hawk" Davenport. James and Julz Kasner kick off the night's event with fishermusic. EVENT 3: SUNDAY MORNING OPEN MIC & HEARTY BRUNCH BUFFET, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Yaquina Bay Yacht Club (750 SE Bay Blvd., Newport, Oregon).
Poetry, songs, and stories by and for people who love the ocean and fishing, eating fish, studying fish, or swimming with fish. all types of fishermen and women, marine artists and scientists are encourage to share inspiration, stories and limericks about the sea and its creatures. The Open Mic offers a chance to express and witness the passion and perils of people who make their living dancing on the deepest seas. All are invited to come in from the rain to listen to fish tales, funny yarns and fishermusic. The FisherPoets Open Mic is a moment when burly men in dripping slickers mingle with danger voyeurs and landlubbers. Open Mic readers receive a can of Capt'n Bob's tuna and a FisherPoets T-shirt (as long as supplies last). Five-minute limit; original work only. Emcee: Bob Eder. Free admission.
