OLCV Hosts 2015 Photo Contest!

In News by April Christenson

We are excited to announce that OLCV is hosting its 2015 photo contest! As we ramp up to launch our Legislative Scorecard, we wanted to see Oregon through the eyes of the people who help keep our state beautiful — our members! Oregon is such a diverse place, and we have members from all over the state. We want to see what your Oregon looks like! That means we’d love to see not just the beautiful skylines and mountain views (we want those too!), but also the camping trips with friends, the long, winding trails in our many amazing parks, and the rainy coast visits where your dog couldn’t have gotten muddier if they tried! In other words — we want to see how YOU enjoy Oregon.

Our First Prize winner’s photo will be featured on the cover of OLCV’s 2015 Legislative Scorecard! Our Legislative Scorecard is one of the most important ways OLCV holds our elected officials accountable for how they vote on the environment. Our winner and runners-up will also receive a delicious bottle of Oregon wine! Additionally, many of our Photo Contest submissions will be featured on OLCV’s upcoming, brand-new website this winter, along with member profiles for select contest participants.

To submit, simply send your photo(s) to OLCV Intern Brooks Kern at brooks@olcv.org. If sending via email, for your submission to be considered, please include the following information:

1) Your name 2) Your contact information including email and phone number 3) A brief description of the photo, including location (Oregon only please!) and landmark or geographic feature if applicable (i.e. Painted Hills or Devil’s Punchbowl)

You can also submit via social media using the hashtag #OLCVphotocontest. Social media submissions that are considered for prizes will be contacted via the medium in which they are submitted. If you haven’t yet, check us out online here:

Please see below for a short list of rules and regulations. This is a great chance to show off your corner of the world, or a snapshot of a moment that expresses why Oregon is such a special place. And don’t forget the other reason Oregon is so special- the people! Photos that include you and your friends, family, and pets enjoying the outdoors are welcome too.

Thanks, and we can’t wait to see Oregon through your eyes!
