Sustaining donors
protect the next generation
|
Last month, Jennifer Yocom (pictured here
studying a toad, with her nephew Clay) signed up online to become a monthly
donor to OLCV.

Jennifer first learned about OLCV in 2005. But
it wasn't until the following year, when she ran Erik Sten’s successful campaign
for Portland City Council, that she learned firsthand the value of OLCV’s
election work.
She says: "With OLCV’s endorsement and the
thousands of phone calls made by their volunteers, we won the election during
the Primary."

When Jennifer was asked why she decided to become a sustaining, or
monthly, donor to OLCV, she explained: "I
really like the people who work and volunteer there." But she said the true
selling point is, "OLCV is darn
effective."
Monthly giving is a simple, affordable option that
allows Jennifer to proudly support OLCV’s critical work throughout the year.
"Every month my dollars mean action. Every month my dollars mean stewardship,"
she says.
And her advice to those considering monthly giving?
"It IS easy--I promise."

By Jonathan Poisner,
OLCV Executive Director:
In August, I had the good fortune to
visit my favorite place in Oregon – the Eagle Cap Wilderness in the
Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.

Can you name the lake in the center of this
picture?
The first person who answers that
correctly by emailing
me (those on the trip with him are not eligible!) will
be celebrated for their geographic prowess in the next E-Bulletin.
Rather than wax poetic about the extraordinary beauty of
that particular corner of Oregon, I’ll let my full
slide show speak for
itself.
