About the Endorsement Process

OLCV's endorsement process relies upon a candidate questionnaire and an interview, as well as a review of any public record the candidate has.
You can read the questionnaires to get a sense of the range of issues covered. (However, we do not publicly release the questionnaire responses of candidates.)
OLCV's endorsement process pits candidates against those running in the same race, rather than against some abstract ideal. Two candidates may both be pro-environment, yet the endorsement will go to the the candidate OLCV believes will best advance the overall goal of environmental protection.
Dual endorsements, where we endorse two candidates in the same race, are very rare -- in only 1 of 72 races so far this year did we make a dual endorsement.
