Save Oregon's BPA Ban - Hold Your Legislators Accountable
Bisphenol-A (BPA) is a dangerous, toxic chemical that is routinely found in plastic children’s food products like baby bottles, sippy cups, and infant formula cans. Toxic BPA has been linked to several increasing children's developmental problems. This legislative session we have been working hard to pass Senate Bill 695, the BPA-Free Baby Bill, which would ban this toxic chemical and protect our children.
The toxic chemical BPA has already been banned or severely limited in Washington and eight other States, Canada and the European Union. It has even been banned from children’s food containers in China, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates. And just yesterday the California State Assembly voted to ban this toxic chemical. Here in Oregon, public opinion polling clearly shows that 75 percent of Oregonians overwhelmingly want to ban BPA.
Last night, in a last second inside deal, Oregon House Leaders decided to kill this common sense bill to protect our kids. What does it say about their priorities when Oregon falls behind China and Malaysia in protecting our kids from toxics?
Next Tuesday, Republican House Co-Speaker Bruce Hanna will be visiting Washington County for a town hall meeting with your state Senator Bruc Starr and your state Representatives Shawn Lindsay and Katie Eyre-Brewer. This is your opportunity to ask them, in person, why they are playing politics with the health and safety of our children.

Where: Hillsboro Civic Auditorium
