Voter registration: It doesn't get much easier
Here's the absolute easiest way to register to vote:
Pick up a Portland Mercury (the one that hit the boxes around town today).
Yep, they have attached a perfectly legal voter registration form to the cover.
It's part of the Bus Project's push to get everyone registered in time to vote in the January special election. As you probably know by now, OLCV is working to pass the measures in question--Vote YES on Measures 66 and 67!
The voter registration cover is a brilliant idea. But it gets better. You don't even have to mail it in. There are locked drop boxes around town where you can drop in your completed form--they are listed on the back if the form.
If you have moved to Portland (or in Portland) recently, or changed parties, or just need to register (it can be your secret)... grab a Mercury and do it. But hurry!
The voter registration deadline for the January 26th election is next Tuesday, January 5.
Then vote YES! Ballots start arriving in mailboxes at the end of next week.
The solemn expression on her young face, gazing out over the vast ocean before her, speaks volumes to me. This experience must be protected and provided for all generations to come.

The Oregonian Editorial Board: Vote No On Measures 66 And 67
In a stunning rebuke of Democrats in Salem, Oregon's largest newspaper came out squarely against Oregon Ballot Measures 66 and 67. The Editorial Board's opening statement set the tone for its scorching criticism of the unwise and unnecessary choice foisted upon Oregon voters by progressive legislators.

Thanks for bringing this up here.
