Our good friend Regna Merritt who's been leading the charge to protect Portland families from outlandishly high water rate increases just sent us some great news.

I wanted to share it with you -

 Late last week I had the pleasure of interviewing Hood River's Elaine Thompson, an OLCV member and staunch supporter of making Oregon the first state in the nation to ban single-use plastic checkout bags. 

Elaine says she's a Northwest girl at heart and loves Oregon. And because she feels so passionately about this issue she took the time to work with us to  organize people to take action around showings of ‘Bag It!’ in Hood River.

And why does Elaine support the OLCV? She put it simply and eloquently: 

At this year's OLCV Annual Celebration dinner, we debuted a video featuring several Oregon business leaders, conservationists, and elected officials as they look back at the 2010 Gulf Coast oil spill. They go on to talk about the critical work that OLCV does to protect Oregon's environment and create jobs at the same time.
