OLCV: NO on Measure 64, Silencing Our Voice, Unclear, Unfair and Unnecessary

Ah, racketeer Bill Sizemore. He's at it again, with Measure 64.

Measure 64 would silence the voices of working Oregonians by stopping public employees -- nurses, teachers, firefighters and police officers -- from using voluntary payroll deductions to donate to charities, unions, and other organizations.

Beyond slashing funding for groups like the United Way, the Oregon Food Bank, and  environmental nonprofits that take stands on public issues, it could prevent groups like OLCV from having events at public locations like the Oregon Convention Center. It has a host of unintended consequences.

Measure 64 singles out working Oregonians and takes away our freedom to support organizations we believe in. It is unclear, unfair, and unnecessary.

It's another poorly drafted measure that will end up in court. The same idea has been defeated by Oregon voters three times in recent years.

OLCV asks you to please Vote NO on Measure 64, which is bad for the environment and bad for Oregon.
