Meet Jackie Dingfelder (Candidate for Senate District 23 endorsed by OLCV)

I have had the privilege of serving four terms as State Representative from NE Portland.  During that time, I maintained a 100% voting record on OLCV's scorecard and was, in fact, recently honored as the environmental champion of the year for the 2007 session.  I believe this experience, as well as my background as an environmental planner, will be of great value to me as I look to my next challenge in the Oregon Senate.

As State Senator, I will help protect Oregon's environment by:

  • Making the promise of sustainability a reality that protects our environment and builds our economy.
  • Advocating for policies that will help Oregon meet our goals of reducing greenhouse gas emission levels.
  • Passing legislation to establish a carbon cap-and-trade system for Oregon that can serve as a model for the nation.
  • Returning the Willamette River to a healthy, functioning waterway that demonstrates Oregonians'      commitment to preserving our great natural treasures

I believe we can accomplish these goals and that we can do it in a way that replaces the politics of division and partisanship with common sense and respect.  That was the Oregon way at a time when we accomplished great things.  Now it's time for a comeback.
