Climate Advocacy Night was a Success!
The Healthy Climate Partnership and the Oregon Conservation Network, with the help of 18 stellar volunteers, executed a massive grassroots push this past Wednesday towards the passage of two key climate bills. Thanks to Seth Moore for organizing such a successful event, and to the Oregon Environmental Council for the use of their space.
Almost 700 phone calls were made to constituent districts in swing Senate districts. 95 of the people we reached said yes, they would call their Senator and urge him or her to vote yes on House Bill 2186, a bill that would, among other things, create a low carbon fuel standard.
Jake Weigler, Campaign Director for the Healthy Climate Partnership, led a letter-to-the-editor writing campaign regarding Senate Bill 80. Here is he sitting amongst yummy snacks and refreshments.

I vote for pro-environmental candidates because we can’t afford to sacrifice long-term stewardship for short-term gains.
