Yesterday I received a few emails that show that the mis-information from the opposition to Measures 66&67 is confusing Oregon voters.  Here is an email I received from a woman named Lois:

This bill needs to be reworked.  It will break the backs of Oregon farmers! How about looking at the long term consequences.

An ad against soda taxes is bad enough, but check out the plastic bag consumption.

If you are anything like me (an obsessive compulsive re-user/recycler), watching TV can be difficult. Any show that features someone with writer’s block invariably includes a scene involving the actor wadding up a piece of paper (who types anymore?) and throwing it away in the garbage can.  And then there are the reality shows, where you realize the rest of the country really doesn’t get it.

The community of St Helens. Oregon will gain 50 stable family-wage jobs next year when the construction of a plastic-bottle recycling plant is completed. Those jobs can be linked to the work OLCV and the Oregon Conservation Network did in the 2007 Legislative Session to expand Oregon's landmark bottle bill to include bottled water.
